Classically Cordova

Alfred Ceramics alumna Christina Cordova gave a great talk on her figurative work. She draws on Catholic tradition of the figure as part of devotional practice. After getting her MFA she moved to North Carolina and continued to develop her figures, often combining realism with fantastical element--a tension that reminded me of some South American literature.

The talk was lead-up to her solo exhibition at Aflred's Ceramic Art Museum. A beautiful show; check it out.
